It has
been my joyous privilege to serve as pastor of NPBC since Nov. 2003.
I
accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 12. In 1980, I earned a
marketing degree (BSBA) from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC.
After God's call, I was graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theology
Seminary in 1987 with a Master of Divinity. A Doctor of Ministry
was earned at Covington Theological Seminary in 2004.
My
wonderful wife, Teresa, and I have two teenagers: Denae and Ryan.
I enjoy riding four-wheelers with my son as a hobby, and have learned
how special it is to be a father to my lovely daughter.
I
count it such a joy to have you as my Christian brother or sister at
NPBC. My family is excited about the opportunity to minister to
all of your families. Join me in our walk with Christ and may He
get all the glory! |

I became a part of NPBC
family in August, 2007. I accepted Christ as my Savior
at about 10 years of age at Royal Ambassador Camp and was called to the
ministry in the fall of 1990 while at Appalachian State University in
Boone, NC. I graduated ASU in 1994 with a Bachelor of Music degree and
in 2001 completed my Master of Divinity with a Church Music degree from
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
I met my wife, Gwen, while
in college and we married in 1994. We have three sons: Michael, Braedon, and Kohlten. This fall,
my wife and I were blessed with a new
lovely daughter, Ashlinn. I enjoy spending time with my family.
My boys are growing fast and it is a joy playing with them and watching
their imaginations soar. I also enjoy cycling. Though mountain
roads are a challenge to climb, it is relaxing to get out and explore.
Most anything that involves outdoors is a great way for me to slow down
and enjoy life.
My goal in ministry is
to encourage people to grow closer to the Lord and then strive to
reproduce their faith in others. I am so much enjoying getting to
know my church and am excited about the possibilities the Lord has for
us to grow His Kingdom.
I would like to offer
you a verse of Scripture as a challenge. John 3:30 "He (Christ)
must increase, but I must decrease." As we give Christ more
freedom in our lives, the more eternally significant our lives will then
be.
May the Lord's
blessing be on you today. |

It has
been such a privilege to be a part of the NPBC family and serve as
minister to students and recreation since July 2011. I accepted Christ
as my personal Lord and Savior around my freshman year of high school
and was called to the ministry right before my senior year in 2005.
From there I attended North Greenville University where I received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies in 2009 and then completed
my Master of Divinity in 2011 at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary.
I met my amazing wife, Cassie,
at North Greenville, and we have been married since August 6, 2011. I
enjoy spending time with her, especially as we partner in ministry by
serving the students of NBPC. I also enjoy anything that has to do with
sports. I love to compete in them as well as just sit back and watch
them as a fan.
My
hope in ministry is that people will come to know the Lord and that they
in turn will teach and share with others the love of Christ. Cassie and
I are so excited to serve you at New Prospect and cannot wait to see
what God has in store. |

NPBC
is blessed with Vicki White who serves as the office manager and
secretary, but she is much more than that to our church family.
Perhaps the only person who can keep this office functionally-proficient
with her wide range of abilities, Vicki is a joy to all who contact her
with their needs. When time permits ( and sometimes when it
doesn't), Vicki sends a warm, loving smile personally to you
even if it's across the telephone.
Vicki
has been married for 20 years to Rev. Joe White, pastor of Stable Life
Worship Center in Inman, SC, and is the mother of an 11 year old son,
Logan. She loves to go on day trips about the area, shopping and trying out the local cuisine. She
cites John 3:16 as her favorite Bible passage. |

Our Church Pianist
Coordinator: J.O.Y. Club |

Peggy
McDowell has served gladly as the church pianist since she moved her
church membership to this church as a young bride in the mid-1960's.
She and her husband, Wayne, who retired from Mohawk Industries, are
parents to one son, a daughter-in-law and two wonderful grandchildren.
After
retiring as a teacher at New Prospect Elementary, her love for children
has been and is still being demonstrated through teaching them in many
areas and encouraging them to be their best in school work, church
activities and their daily lives, but most importantly in their
relationship with God. She also shared her love through music by
leading the children's choir at one time.
Peggy
has served as Associational WMU Directory and church WMU directory where
God led her to begin the JOY (Just Older Youth) Club, which is a
ministry of more mature saints. Older adults who
participate, and there are many even from other churches and among our
community, testify to her devotion and love for them all as they enjoy
the host of activities this ministry promotes. Want to see
the Lord in action? Just try to follow this group, and Peggy
dedicates many long hours to its success.
She
cites Philippians 4:13 as her favorite Bible scripture. |

|
|
Our Church Organist |
|
|
|
A
fixture at New Prospect Baptist all of her life, Linda Wilson literally
grew up in this church. She has been the church organist for as
she words it, "too long to remember." The former Linda Burns
married Lance in 1958 and is the mother of Sherri Mathis, who herself is
a member from a young age. Linda is a proud grandmother of
Sherri's two teenage sons and both her and her husband count it a
great joy to be godly examples to them.
She
and Lance also host many dinners and cook-outs for numerous church
groups at her home nearby. Many who become members
themselves have attended on at some time in their church lives.
Linda's commitment to serving this church family is a testament to her
love of Christ, and among the many accomplishments she takes great
delight in it.
Linda
loves John 3:16 in the New Testament, and all her friends and
acquaintances know that she lives her faith daily in its truth. |

Children's Director |

What a blessing it has been to be a part of New Prospect Baptist Church
since 1998. As a Christian, wife, mom, daughter and friend, I have
grown to know Christ more and to have a more intimate relationship with
Him over these past years!
I accepted Christ into my
heart as a six year old child, when I realized my sinful nature and the
forgiveness that only Christ could give through my accepting and
believing in His death, burial and resurrection. Later, after
graduating from a local high school, I went on to Liberty University
where I received my BS in Mathematics and then in Education. I have
taught high school math for the past 18 years, but God has since given
me a great desire to work with even younger children and to share with
them His gospel. With my wonderful husband Brian, and four beautiful
children, God has allowed me the opportunity to serve as the Children’s
Director at New Prospect Baptist Church. Along with my family, what a
joy it has been and will continue to be, to serve our Lord and Savior
with each one of you.
I would like to share and
encourage you with my favorite verse from Proverbs 3: 5, 6, “Trust in
the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In
all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
May this ever be my prayer and yours, as we allow God to direct us in
each and every way, and may we always follow His guidance as we seek to
tell others about Him!
